Privacy Policy
What AdultVerdict collects, why we keep it, and how to ask us to stop. Last updated 24 October 2026.
Who this policy is from
AdultVerdict publishes this website. Privacy questions go to info@adultverdict.com. This page does not name a registered company number or a registered office, because those details are not published here. If that changes, this policy will change with them.
The policy describes this website. It is not a legal opinion about the law where you live. Rights that law gives you, and that a website is not allowed to remove, still apply.
Information you give us
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address, the fact that you ticked the consent box, the time of that consent, a private unsubscribe token, and the IP address and browser string sent with the form. We use the address to send occasional editorial notes and a message that contains your unsubscribe link. We do not sell the list.
You can stop mail with the unsubscribe link in a message, or with the unsubscribe form. Unsubscribing marks the address so we do not keep sending. Email us if you also want the row deleted.
Contact form. If you write to us, we keep your name, email address, and message so we can read it and reply. A copy is emailed to the editorial mailbox, and we try to send you a short acknowledgement. The message is also written to a private log on the server. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or identity documents through the form.
Information collected while you browse
- Session cookie. The site sets a cookie named
AVSESSID. It keeps a form security token, a short-lived message such as “your note was sent,” and a staff sign-in if someone is using the private editorial desk. It lasts about two hours, is not readable by page scripts, and is limited to this site. On HTTPS it is sent only over HTTPS. This cookie is required for the forms to work. - Abuse limits. Newsletter and unsubscribe forms store a hash of the IP address, not the address itself, so a burst of submissions can be slowed down. Those attempt records are deleted after about two days.
- Affiliate clicks. If a page offers an affiliate button, a click is counted. The record stores which link was used, the page it came from, a hash of the IP address, the browser string, and the referring address. Published reviews do not currently include such a button. See the affiliate disclosure.
- Staff sign-in. A failed or successful sign-in to the editorial desk records the email address tried, the IP address, the time, and whether it succeeded. That record is used to slow repeated failures. Readers do not have accounts.
- Server logs. The host that serves the site may keep ordinary access logs, such as an address, a time, and the page requested. Those logs are for security and reliability.
Reading a review does not create a profile of you. Page view counts are totals, not a record of who read the page.
Services that receive a connection
Your browser loads typefaces from Google Fonts and the animation library from Cloudflare’s cdnjs network. Those requests are made by your browser so the page can display. We do not send your newsletter address or contact message to those services.
Google Analytics. Public pages load Google’s measurement tag, measurement ID G-EDJQX9E661. Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address, browser, and the pages you open, so we can see aggregate visits. We do not send your newsletter address or contact message to Google. The editorial desk does not load this tag. Google’s own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Mail you ask us to send, including a contact message and a newsletter confirmation, passes through the mailbox host for info@adultverdict.com.
A link to Bumble, Hinge, or any other site leaves AdultVerdict. What that site collects is covered by its own policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not run third-party advertising.
- We do not ask for an account, a phone number, or a payment from readers.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter records stay while you are subscribed, and remain marked unsubscribed after you leave, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Contact messages stay long enough to reply and to deal with abuse. Ask us if you want a particular message deleted.
- The session cookie expires after about two hours of inactivity.
- Hashed form-attempt records expire after about two days.
Your requests
Email info@adultverdict.com to ask what we hold for an address, to correct it, or to delete it. Write from that address, or tell us enough that we can find the right row and avoid changing someone else’s. If the law where you live gives you a further right, including a complaint to a regulator, say so in the same email. We will honour a right that applies to this site.
Children
AdultVerdict is written for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect a child’s information. If you believe a child has subscribed or written to us, email us and we will delete that record.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after that date is use under the updated policy.
